get_definition_from_PDF

classmethod HIRS4.get_definition_from_PDF(path_to_pdf)

Get HIRS definition from NWPSAF PDF.

This method needs the external program pdftotext. Put the result in header_dtype manually, but there are some corrections (see comments in source code in _tovs_defs).

Parameters:

path_to_pdf (str) – Path to document NWPSAF-MF-UD-003_Formats.pdf

Returns:

(head_dtype, head_format, line_dtype, line_format)
